Inspiration – A Mobile Photography Series
Inspiration is hard to come by. Sometimes you have to literally tie it down and force favorable conditions on it. And so, reluctantly — because motivation doesn’t come easy in such a situation — I put my uninspired mind in its place. This series of three images appeared in the midst of a lull in creativity. I whined and complained a little, sulked about it to friends, but then I went ahead and did something I had been meaning to do for a long while. The idea of creating about 10 to 12 lovely textured backgrounds, in different colors and black and white, had been on my mind for some time. So I went ahead and made them because I knew at some point I would use them. For what I did not know. It took me a day until the idea hit me. This series is that idea.
About The Series
These images were all taken during a trip to the Page Museum at the La Brea Tar Pits this summer of 2014. The images had been sitting there on my camera roll. The backgrounds were all created using HandyPhoto, while the layering was created using PS Touch (here’s a tutorial to help you out with layering). The smoke was made using Repix on a grey background. The monochrome versions were created using HandyPhoto, as well as the “uncropped” 9×16 feature image.
