Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial – Munich, Germany
The Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial was a sobering experience and remains vivid in my mind almost a year after being there. It forced me, in silence, to capture its scenes in imagery as a means of dealing with its significance. This short series is presented with only a few words to note the general context, leaving the images to serve as a matter of fact portrait of human nature. It can happen to any people. It can happen through any people. It is happening right now: www.genocidewatch.net
Concentration Camp Resources
The camp’s administrator, Heinrich Himmler, was later elevated by Hitler to General Plenipotentiary and as a result of his authority, the Dachau concentration camp became the precursor and prototype of all other Nazi concentration camps. More information can be found out about the concentration camp and the memorial here and here.
About The Series
This set of thirty images was made using Snapseed, with some assistence from Photo Editor (for image skewing and straightening). There is no uniform process used in editing the images. I let them speak to me as to what was needed.
